Love is…….

Love Is………………… Love Is…
When my mom passed away on 9/24/1994, I went to her apartment to find something of hers to hold on to, something valuable enough to passed down to my children. I look ferociously for an object, a symbol of my mother’s life here on earth, something tangible and real. I look until I couldn’t look anymore. Then a piece of notebook paper fell out of a book, it had my mother’s handwriting on it and it read:

Love is- the ability to allow those you care for to choose whatever they desire in life without any insistence that they satisfy you.

Rose McFadden

I immediately knew that was what my mother wanted her grandkids to know. I still have the paper she wrote it on. Every day I remember those words and I live by them.

I wanted to share my heirloom with you, so you too can be inspired to love freely without any conditions or limits. Believe me it’s the best way to love and live.

Faith of a mustard seed….

In General News, Kismet Life on July 10, 2012 at 9:30 am

I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”-Matthew 17:20

Are you faced with what seems to be a problem? I believe all problems are positive growth opportunities in disguise…and they are very necessary to our well-being and personal development.

How else would we exercise our problem solving skills and how else would we grow?

Metaphysically Speaking, we have on some level invited this quandary into our lives, because on that same level, we know we need it in order to rise above it. We need this issue, situation, challenge to come into our world  so we can become more alive, more sharp, more ourselves…Once we settle our emotional reaction to the issue, we can then begin the process of resolution.

Everything in our energy field is pushing us to become more of who we really, truly are. When you resist living in your truth and being authentic, challenges can and will occur and as you begin to surrender to the  process of healing and growing, you will begin to open up to a greater resource that is put in place to help you succeed.

Decide before you even begin to address your issue:

To be Open and Welcoming to all Possible Solutions and to the Gift of the Lesson.

As you set the tone and alert the Universe of your willingness to allow any and all assistance, you create a vibrational volcano that erupts with a clear purpose to bring about comfort, insight and peace on your journey of resolving whatever “problem” you may seem to have.

Do a Inventory Check of some of your past problems and how they were resolved and most definitively,  what did you learn?

Never give up on yourself, Never let anyone’s thoughts or opinions steer you away from your own knowing and inner guidance. Listen for the chatter from your fear, doubt and insecurities and simply choose to accept the truth about who you are…YOU ARE DIVINE, CAPABLE & EQUIPPED with all you need to address anything that may show up in your world.

Trust, your inner guides and with faith as little as a mustard seed you will begin to become a pro-active role player in your life and not just an angry spectator.

California Dreaming

In General News on June 18, 2012 at 8:26 pm

Harlem (Dream Deferred)

What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore”
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over”
like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags

like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

I have always dreamed of living in California, always dreamed of making movies and using my influence to make an impact on the world in a major way. I became interested in acting while watching blacks in sitcoms growing up, like on “Good Times”, Different Strokes and “Facts of Life.
I always figured I could of easily been tootie’s lil’ sister or either one of Todd Bridges love interest.

By the time I turned 16, my home life was chaotic, so I ran away. I went to an all girls group home in Manhattan. This turned out to be a wonderful experience for me. An actress from the soap opera “Another World” volunteered to teach acting to all of us girls. We had acting class twice a week and I got really into it. I remember my teacher pulling me aside and saying I really had talent and should stick with it. She was really special and I was inspired and I will never forget her kindness.
While in junior college I decided to take theater acting and it helped me to really recognized my strengths and weakness and the physical aspect of acting. I continued my love for filmmaking and while studying social work at Morgan State University, I took a screenwriting class with an amazing teacher, who really enjoyed storytelling and film. I was inspired when he used my script for a reading in class and was choked up when he called me to read my own work. After class, my classmates were calling me the girl Spike Lee. I was so gassed up!!lol! I immediately started writing other scripts and I was ready to go.
Ok, that was 1998……..

Fast forward to 2012….I live in an amazing loft in Downtown LA, I have my own production company, BorMik Productions with my partner and I’m working on finishing my first short film titled “Change”. We have various projects on the table and I am living my dream.

LESSON LEARNED: Dreams are not a final destination, they are a creative process meant to be fully experienced, each dream has way of cultivating and manifesting in their own divine time….Our job is to enjoy the journey…..
